On November 4, 2008, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met in the Foreign Ministry with a delegation of Canadian premiers co-organized by the Council of the Federation and the Canada China Business Council. The members of the delegation included Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham, Manitoba Premier Gary Doer and Prince Edward Island (PEI) Premier Robert Ghiz, as well as Québec's former premier Pierre Marc Johnson, also the personal representative of Québec’s Premier, and Andre Desmarais, honorary chairman of Canada-China Business Council (CCBC). Both sides exchanged views on Canada-China relations, environmental protection and climate change.
